No. Participation in the African Undergraduate Challenge is 100% free of charge for all eligible undergraduate students across all 54 African countries.
Can students from different universities form a single team?
Yes! Inter-university and cross-border teams within Africa are warmly welcomed and highly encouraged, as this fosters true pan-African collaboration.
Who owns the intellectual property (IP) developed during the challenge?
100% of all intellectual property, patent rights, code, and venture equity remain entirely with the student inventors. AUC takes zero equity in participant ventures.
What stage of prototype is required at the initial campus level?
At the initial campus stage, a clear conceptual framework, architectural design, wireframes, or simulated mockups are sufficient. Working software/hardware prototypes will be built during the national and regional accelerator stages.
